Casey has announced that he’s putting his blog out of business some undetermined time in the near future, bringing the level of hipster snark in my links to a critically low level.
It’s too bad, because Casey’s a very entertaining writer, but I think he’s succumbed to something that can happen to any blogger: He got a life.
Hopefully one day his paper will wise up to his talents and make him a columnist, but until then, I hope he has fun with his $11 martinis.
Rest assured, Goat World will be around for some time to come. I really enjoy the time I waste here, and will continue to waste it until I too, get a life.
And that ain’t gonna happen anytime soon.
Thanks for the sweet words, Ellen! Getting a life certainly was a factor behind the blog’s impending demise. But I think every blogger needs a break now and then — it keeps you fresh. So if you need to — I don’t know, record a new album, say? — no one will blame you for taking some time off.
Actually, come to think of it, please record a new album. =)
Once I get a soundproof apartment that allows me to play after 8pm, then the album will be recorded. Until then, there might be problems, since I don’t get home until after 8 most nights. Either that or I get my own office and start recording there.
