Emmy Producers: On Drugs, or High as Kites? 2

This asinine idea is going to be a massive trainwreck, but it will at least launch a thousand drinking games. Performer highlights include:

William Shatner [well…that’s all you really need to know]

Gary Dourdan (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”) and R&B artist Macy Gray with “Movin’ On Up” from “The Jeffersons.”

Megan Mullally (“Will & Grace”) and Trump (“The Apprentice”) with the “Green Acres” tune.

I’d say more, but I have to immediately email my friend who is hosting an Emmy party and let her know that I’ve changed my plans from attending said party to being bolted into a soundproof booth until news shows stop mockingly replaying the footage from this sometime in the week after it initially airs.

I’m amazed at how quickly the popularity of William Shatner, Singer has risen. Five years ago it was drunken/high college kids playing his version of “Rocket Man” on their WinAmps and laughing their asses off. Now it’s a hip, mainstream thing.

what shatner is singing is the truly amazing part… he’s duet with mezzo-soprano von Stade the theme to Star Trek… yes, the theme apparently has lyrics, and it’s not an urban legend. They lyrics appear towards the end of that page. it will be priceless. and yes, i imagine that college kids will laugh their asses off.
