Elmer Bernstein died today. He was a great movie composer, and he composed the scores to my two favorite movies of all time, The Great Escape and Airplane!.

very sad indeed… i can’t believe how many of his movies i’ve seen and never even heard of him before today… and the “National Geographic Explorer” theme music?! I love that!
