I don’t think I can exaggerate the joy it brought me to find out that Animaniacs is finally officially coming out on DVD.
I love cartoons, and Animaniacs is quite possibly my favorite cartoon show of all time. Yes, I love it more than the Simpsons, and a solid 5% of my statements are Simpsons quotes or Simpsons-related.
I’m excited to watch these again, since the last time I watched them a couple years ago via Nicktoons reruns, I got a shitload of jokes I’d never gotten before (like the fact that an entire episode was an Apocalypse Now parody).
Also, is it weird that, when discussing the show with a co-worker, I could remember Dot’s full name (Princess Angelina Contessa Louisa Francesca Banana Fanna Bo Besca the 3rd) totally unprompted?
There’s a few of my favorite segments that aren’t on the list, so now that this is officially coming out, I’m ready to say it: When are the rest of the eps coming out?!

Ye Gods, this is the most exciting DVD release of 2006. Or, quite possibly, the remaining half of the decade. I honestly never expected that we’d get to see this one come out.

Not so many that I’m anything less than ecstatic about Animaniacs coming out.
