Traffic studies are never a good thing for Los Angeles, but the one I saw on Headline News this morning was particularly frustrating.
I go through the worst (405 at the 101) and 5th worst (405 at the 10) traffic bottlenecks in the entire country every morning on my way to work.
Bah.
Ick. I once drove to LAX at 4am and found a bottleneck at the 405/101. I don’t think I could drive it every day… I’d probably go insane if I tried.
I got #s 3 and 11 every day so I have little sympathy.
Ah, the Hillside Strangler (#3). That’s such a good name for a traffic tie up. I also like the “Mixing Bowl” in DC (where 495, 395, and 95 all come together and time comes to a screeching halt).
And you’ll have less sympathy when I tell you that since I go in at noon and leave around 10 or 11, the traffic’s not nearly as bad as at rush hour. I can get from Venice to Burbank in 30-35mins in the afternoon and back in 25 flat at night.
Granted, I have a major league lead foot, but it certainly could be worse.
Like the guy in the Mercedes commercial. With the actual lead foot.
I’d also like to say that when I posted my last comment, there was an ad underneath that said “There IS a right to arms!
A calm discussion of why, and why we should oppose new controls.”
You have a scary comment provider.
