Total elapsed time from the beginning of my first conversation with my father about getting laid off to his first mention of how I should go to Law school: Under five minutes.
Total number of times I slowly and clearly repeated to him, “I am not going to Law school” during the same conversation: At least ten.
Is this at least a situation where, assuming the labor dispute is ever settled, you’d be promptly rehired?
Depends on what happens in the meantime, and particularly on how long the strike lasts. I’m going to need to start looking for a job shortly after the new year, and if I were to get a job on a feature, I probably wouldn’t be able to go back until next season at the earliest, if at all.
But, if the strike settles before I find another job, I think I’d probably wind up back at the show, though possibly in a different capacity.
Come on, everyone else is doing it! Law school! Law school!
