I suddenly decided I was sick as hell of my old template and have gone about redesigning one of Blogger‘s that was not totally hideous to my liking. So far, it’s coming along pretty well.
There’s still a few kinks that need to be worked out, like why on earth my blog post text has decided to start acting like a link and obeying the a:hover command in Safari (It’s not doing it in IE as far as I can tell).
You’ll also notice that I’ve switched to Blogger’s new commenting scheme from Haloscan, mostly because I couldn’t get Haloscan to work anymore in the new template.
Alas, I’ve lost all the old witty comments, like Mark telling me that like 24, most of my recent posts have been taking place between 1am and 4am.
Testing…testing…yeah, if anyone can help me fix the hovering text bug (which may only be in certain browsers) let me know.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then tell me whether this is better, worse, or the about the same level of ugliness as the previous design.
Woo! I’m glad the black is gone. This is niiiiice.
Now, if only Joel would get off his buggered ass to actually finish the redesign of Unfocus. Hurmph.
I hate Blogger’s eighty-five-step commenting process!
Other than that, site looks great!
Oh, hell. It makes me post as Mark. That’s going to get confusing.
(this is Laz, by the way)
Yeah, I’m not too happy with the commenting process, but the new template seems to disable Haloscan’s javascript, which sucks. There’s always the option of posting as “anonymous” and then just signing your name.
Commenting process aside, I love the new template, Ellen. Nice work!
Heh, but you can remove your own comments later on…for no good reason. That’s a plus.
Not only can you trash your own comments, but I can arbitrarily remove any posts at will. I CAN RULE THIS PLACE WITH AN IRON FIST! HAHAHA!
But I’m glad you guys like the design 🙂
You can arbitrarily remove comments on Haloscan, too. You’ve been missing out all this time!
–Laz (having to sign my name sucks!!)
Ah, shit. I’ve missed out on my chance for world domination. Now I know how the Brain feels on Pinky & the Brain.
And I’m sorry you have to sign your posts, Laz, but if it makes you feel any better, if I ever comment on Other Ellen’s blog, I’ll have to sign my posts as Other Ellen. I do appreciate the clarification, though.
One thing I’ve noticed in Safari is that when you click on the page (anywhere there isn’t a link or picture or even text), the page changes color. Weirdest thing.
