This can’t be good. I’m starting to fall into patterns from last summer where I would be up until 4 in the morning, then stumbled out of bed at noon for a bit, looked for a job, then fell asleep on the couch until about 5 or 6, from which point I then could not sleep until 4 in the morning, and the Circle of Insomnia began anew.
I’m not yet at the point I eventually reached where I was sleeping from 8am to 4pm, but this is getting irritating.
I know if I keep doing this, I’m going to be unemployed for months again, and I just can’t do that. I may end up taking a temp job simply to regulate my sleep habits.
Well, and pay my bills. But really, at this point, that’s almost secondary to needing to get back to feeling like a human and not a sloth.
And sloths, not coincidentally, are nocturnal.
The very same thing happened to me last week, when I was hitting a wall on one of my assignments. I fixed it by forcing a 8 am wake-up yesterday (drank a ton of water and set the alarm LOUD) and going for a walk outside when I felt myself getting sleepy. Then I fell asleep at midnight and I think I’m back on a good schedule.
I could do this even w/ the Colbert Report premiere forcing me to stay up late. With your powers of Tivo, this shouldn’t be a problem.
You sleep 15 to 18 hours a day? Upside down? Neat!
Upside down will probably be coming next week. One step at a time, man. One step at a time.
