Despite all my bitching and whining about the rain last week, there’s still no better reason than the weather to live in southern California. To wit:
Predicted high in Chicago: 23 degrees
Predicted high in D.C.: 27 degrees
Predicted high in Los Angeles: 81 degrees.
Now I feel a bit better that Laz has won all that money at Harrah’s. He needs it to pay for his heat.
Oh, btw, fuggyou. It was 2 degrees out when I woke up this morning.
I like the cold.
I’d take 23 degrees over 81 degrees every time. Much easier to warm up than to cool off.
Oh, and my thermostat’s set at 62. You probably pay more for heat. 🙂
I think tonight is the first time I’ve turned on heat since moving down to NC in November. The weird thing about heat here is that the vents are in the…CEILING? Didn’t anyone teach these southerners that heat rises?
Remember, Jamie, heat rising is a theory, not a fact, regarding the direction of air movement. This movement should be approached with an open mind, studied carefully, and critically considered.
And then you should call your landlord and ask what sort of asshat installs heating vents in the ceiling.
The cold is fun. Nice change for the seasons.
And here I thought I’d had my snow fix being back in Michigan in December. I’d like to point out that it is now snowing, and sticking, in NC. Have I mentioned that I’m very afraid of southern drivers?
I want hot chocolate.
It’s not like cold is really a big deal. I mean, it’s not like we have to chop down wood or shovel coal to get heat. And how much do you really spend outside when it’s cold?
So is the cold a problem?
I decree, no.
I agree, as long as the power stays on. But the snow and the southern drivers may be a problem…in my opinion, there’s hardly any snow on the ground (I’d be surprised if it’s an inch), but schools have shut down (and being in a County building, I can theoretically go home)…
I like to be able to spend time outside, but I do try to avoid being outside in the cold. So it’s an annoyance, but not a problem.
