Poor, Dumb Kitty 5

I decided to have a bit of dessert this evening, so I poured a nice big glass of milk, and brought it and put it on the corner of the table.

This attracted the attention of Chaplin, who enjoys tipping over glasses so he can look inside them. Normally, the glasses are empty or only have ice in them, so it’s not really a problem.

But tonight he strolled up next to the glass, and after I pushed him away twice, he managed to get up and tip the glass directly over towards himself.

I wish I’d had a camera to capture the cascade of milk that he got drenched with. It was fucking hilarious. And not that much of the milk went onto the carpet, most of it went directly on to his fur.

I tried to dry him off but he ran under the bed so I couldn’t get to him, and he ended up licking most of the milk off of himself.

I thought this was the end of the story. Oh no. Never.

The milk didn’t agree with Chaplin’s stomach, and he ended up puking repeatedly all over my apartment. I’ve had to shut him in the bathroom until his stomach calms down, and may have to take him to the vet if it doesn’t.

The even better news was that cleaning up the mess he made in my bedroom, I heard a drip drip drip drip drip, and noticed a pretty decent sized leak in my ceiling, dripping directly into my hamper.

So at least thanks to the cat puking, I was able to get hold of the super before he went to bed and he shut the leak’s source down (although it’ll probably take a couple hours for it to completely finish dripping out, so that should make getting to sleep fun).

Still: Poor, dumb kitty.
